Watch: Thomas holes out on 72nd hole in Mexico, gets into play-off
Watch Justin Thomas pull out the clutchest pitch shot at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
When you’re the hottest player in world golf, you have to be pretty hot. And Justin Thomas is sizzling.
The world number two - who won last week on the PGA Tour - was dead and buried after two rounds at the WGC-Mexico Championship, sitting 11 shots off the pace.
But the reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year found the sauce, putting in a third round score of 62, followed by a 64 to make it into a play-off - which he eventually lost to Phil Mickelson.
Playing ahead of the last group, Thomas knew he needed to produce something miraculous on the final hole and that’s exactly what he did, holing out from 121-yards for the eagle.
