A beginner golfer had a costly mishit this week.
Paul Christopher McEvoy, a PGA professional and owner of Elite Golf Performance Centres shared the shocking encounter he had with a beginner golfer during a coaching session.
The centre posted a clip to Instagram earlier this week of McEvoy and the customer in a room with a golf simulator.
The beginning of the caption wrote:
In the bottom of the video, you can see - presumably McEvoy - working on a computer as his customer sets up the ball on the tee.
But it didn't take very long for things to go horribly, horribly wrong.
Instead of lining up her swing towards the simulator screen, the customer set up aimed towards the screen on the adjacent wall.
After hitting her ball into a bunch of equipment, what followed was shock as McEvoy appears to explain to the customer that she was meant to be hitting towards the other screen.
"The phrase hit some golf balls into the screen to warm up has taken on a whole new meaning..." the company wrote.
In a Facebook post, Elite Golf Performance Centres said that the customer was "devastated" after what had happened.
They added:
