BROOKS KOEPKA may have fallen by the wayside down the closing stretch at the Frys.com Open last night but he could have fallen further down the board had this rules infringement been noticed.
The American, who held the 54-hole lead, found the water with his tee shot at the reachable par-4 17th but dropped his ball from over the head instead of the standard shoulder height procedure.
Looking at rule 20-2, Dropping and Re-Dropping, it would appear Koepka, who went on to bogey the penultimate hole before finishing in a tie for third on 14-under, should have been docked an extra shot at the 17th.

Where was that American armchair fan on this one?!
