Why LIV Golf's Garcia, G-Mac and Kaymer will NEVER be Ryder Cup captains!
Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer and Graeme McDowell won't be Ryder Cup captains or vice captains.
DP World Tour chief executive Keith Pelley has confirmed Sergio Garcia, Graeme McDowell and Martin Kaymer will never be Ryder Cup captains or vice captains over a stipulation that was made when 'a couple of LIV Golf' players even sat on the tournament committee.
It is a proposition that seems hard to believe as Garcia is the leading points scorer for Ryder Cup Europe. Surely, there would be a time when the fiery Spaniard would lead a side?
The same could be said for McDowell, who has had a heavy involvement with the Ryder Cup. He even sank the winning putt in 2010 at Celtic Manor which reduced Hunter Mahan to a blubbering wreck.

So there would be no better time for McDowell to lead the troops in blue and gold at Adare Manor when the dust-up heads to Ireland for the 2027 Ryder Cup.
McDowell will be 54 when the Ryder Cup is held on Irish soil. He previously admitted he would be very disappointed if he was never given the honour.
That will never become a reality though because Garcia, McDowell and Kaymer did not meet the minimum number of tournaments required to retain their memberships.
It was a stipulation, Pelley stressed in an interview with bunkered's Michael McEwan, that was made when 'a couple' of now LIV Golf players sat on the tournament committee.
Pelley told bunkered:
Pelley said it was pleasant to see a noticeable change in tone from the LIV players at the 87th Masters.
But he emphasised the decision Garcia, McDowell and Kaymer made was theirs and theirs alone.
Pelley continued:
