LIV Golf's Martin Kaymer reveals reason for withdrawing from US PGA Championship
Martin Kaymer has explained why he is not playing the 2023 US PGA Championship.
Martin Kaymer, who plays in LIV Golf events, turned heads when it was confirmed he had withdrawn from the forthcoming PGA Championship.
He did so because he competed in the breakaway tour's most recent event in Tulsa, which was won by Dustin Johnson in thrilling fashion.
DJ later revealed he wanted to party hard but has vowed to reign himself in ahead of teeing it up at Oak Hill in New York for the second major of 2023.
As for Kaymer, he has said that he is unsure if he able to play three weeks in a row owing to a wrist injury that has caused him some trouble for a considerable amount of time.
His practice has been limited, he said, adding: "That is not enough to beat the best players in the world."

Kaymer told LIV's Mike McAllister:
Kaymer is a two-time major champion.
He captured the 2010 PGA Championship at Whistling Straits and also claimed the 2014 U.S. Open.
The German finished 41st in the 48-player field at LIV Golf Tulsa, posting a total of 3-under. The team he captains, the Cleeks, finished dead last in the team standings.
Overall, they are ranked 11th out of the 12 teams with only eight points.
The PGA Championship has a total of 17 LIV Golf players in the field now that Kaymer has withdrawn.
