Fred Couples BLASTS LIV Golf over handing Phil Mickelson $200m
Fred Couples laughs at LIV Golf over the money given to Phil Mickelson, then calls him a "nutbag".
Fred Couples has blasted LIV Golf for giving Phil Mickelson $200m and he's even called him a "nutbag", following an interview with The Orange County Register.
Mickelson, 52, was one of the first players to break from the PGA Tour to the new Saudi-bankrolled circuit last summer.
The six-time major champion, despite being over 50, is the highest paid golfer anywhere on Tour right now.
But Couples, 63, could not help but fire shots in the direction of his former arch rival.

Couples then referred to Mickelson as a "nutbag".
He did say he "still likes" him though and he also claimed he is "probably one of the 10 best players" to have ever graced the game.
Couples, the 1992 Masters champion, cannot stand the trash talk from those on LIV Golf.

Couples also claimed in his latest interview how PGA Tour player Will Zalatoris rejected two offers from the LIV Golf League.
The first offer? A cool $35m. The second? Apparently the Saudi-backed league upped their offer to a mind-boggling $130m. Zalatoris said no.
Couples also labelled Sergio Garcia "a clown".
