Claude Harmon reveals latest crazy LIV Golf-PGA Tour rumour!
The LIV Golf and PGA Tour drama continues.
As the LIV Golf and PGA Tour drama continues, Claude Harmon III has brought a new rumour to the table.
On Tuesday, the golf world was turned upside down when it was announced that the PGA Tour and DP World Tour would be joining forces with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF).
The three parties are coming together and combining their golf-related commercial businesses and rights to create an entirely new, for-profit entity, according to the release.
This came as a shock to many, as for much of the past year, the PGA Tour and DP World Tour have been caught up in lawsuits and a public feud with LIV Golf, which is funded by the PIF.
Immediately following the news, a PGA Tour players meeting was held during the week of the RBC Canadian Open, where commissioner Jay Monahan was reportedly called a "hypocrite" for his actions.
For over a year now, Monahan has publicly been against LIV Golf and all that it stood for.
During this time, per Harmon, some players received advice from the PGA Tour to stay. As a result, they turned down lucrative LIV Golf offers.
Now, after the news of the PIF and the PGA Tour coming together, Harmon says some of these players are seeking possible legal actions.
“There are already rumours that players and fathers of players that had big offers from LIV, that turned them down on advice from the PGA Tour, that they're thinking about and looking into taking legal action and seeing what their legal options were," said Harmon, on his podcast, Son of a Butch.
He added:
Harmon is the son of the legendary instructor Butch Harmon.
He is also an impressive golf coach himself, and notably works with recent PGA Champion Brooks Koepka.
He's also been involved with previous drama in the LIV Golf-PGA Tour saga, after calling out Golf Channel host Brandel Chamblee a few weeks ago in an interview with Golfweek.
