Bryson & Brooks TEAR into OWGR's LIV non-decision: "It's crazy!"
Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka have offered their opinions on the OWGR's decision to review LIV Golf's bid for world ranking points.
Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka both heavily criticised the decision to not immediately award the LIV Golf Tour world ranking points after the first round of the controversial series' sixth event in Bangkok.
Earlier in the week a "strategic alliance" was announced between Greg Norman's LIV and the little-known MENA Tour, which has not played an event since the beginning of the global pandemic.
That partnership appeared to give LIV the confidence that they would be eligible to earn points immediately.

However, the Official World Golf Ranking refused to make a snap decision, saying that they had not been given enough notice to review the changes.
"Only after the review is complete will a decision be made on awarding points," the OWGR said in a statement, which was later furiously condemned by the MENA Tour commissioner David Spencer.

Koepka, 32, and DeChambeau, 29, spoke to the media after they finished their first rounds at Stonehill. DeChambeau shot an opening round of 3-under 69 whereas Koepka, whose wife Jena appeared to break the big LIV Golf news, was two strokes better.
But their golf was on immediately on their mind. They were asked for their individual responses to the OWGR's statement.
Koepka said: "Yeah, I mean, I don't think it really was much of a response. I don't think ... I just hate when you sit on the fence, just pick a side. Yes or no, just pick one. So, I'm not a big fan of that."
He continued: "Not to say something to where it's not really an answer and, 'We'll think about it,' I don't agree with. Just pick a side if it's yes, if it's no - that's fine and we'll figure it out from there."
DeChambeau said: "I mean, they are delaying the inevitable. We've hit every mark in their criteria. So, for us not to get points is kind of crazy with, at least I believe [we have], the top players in the world. Not all of them, but we certainly believe there is enough that are in the top 50 and we deserve to be getting world ranking points."

He added: "When they keep holding it back they're just gonna keep playing a waiting game where we're gonna keep dropping down the world rankings to where our points won't ever matter. And that's what they are trying to accomplish.
"I hope that people can see right through that rather than believe the lies they have been told. From my perspective, I think we deserve points."
