Landing a new job is no easy task, but a recent study has revealed which sport is the most likely to lead to success when searching for a new role.
Many employers like to see that you're a team player and playing a sport can help boost your credentials on your CV, as many companies believe that those with a sporting background possess a lot of transferable skills.
In a recent study conducted by Golf Support, 200 companies were surveyed on their most recent hires and the study revealed that 68% of successful candidates mentioned they played a sport on their CV.
Golf Support made a tally of which sport each candidate mentioned and have revealed which sport is most likely to lead to success when searching for a new job.
#1 - TENNIS - 21%
Taking the top spot was tennies with 21% of recent hires mentioning they played the sport on their CV. Transferable skills that tennis players may have, include self-control, tactical thinking and concentration.
#2 - GOLF - 17%
Our incredible sport took second spot with 17%, with golfers possessing transferable skills including honesty, focus and responsibility.
#3 - BOXING - 14%
Boxing took third place with 14%. The ability to take a punch and get back up, combined with the discipline and commitment that the sport requires is something that employers believe translates well into the workplace.
