Dustin Johnson makes quadruple-bogey NINE at 3M Open
Dustin Johnson withdraws from the 3M Open through a back injury...
Dustin Johnson was looking to turn his fortunes around on day one of the 3M Open having gone 80-80 en route to a missed cut at last week's Memorial Tournament. Unfortunately it did not happen at all.
Johnson opened his first round of the 3M Open solidly enough with a birdie on his third hole, the par-5 12th, but he then bogeyed the 16th, doubled the 17th and made a disastrous nine at the par-5 18th to go out in 42 strokes.

The former World No.1 hit a good tee shot down the 18th fairway but then sent his second shot into the water from 198 yards out. He took his drop and then played his fourth shot from 182 yards but sent his ball into the water again, and then incredibly did it for a third time with his sixth shot.
To his credit, he struck his eighth shot from 186 yards to three feet and tapped in for a quadruple-bogey nine, but it was a score that sent Johnson to the bottom of the leaderboard and ended any hopes he had of winning the tournament.
Johnson then added further bogeys at the 2nd and 3rd holes to move to 8-over par, before going to drain a 30-footer for birdie on his final hole to finish the round on 7-over par.
Shortly after posting his score, Johnson confirmed he was withdrawing from the tournament through a back injury.
Despite winning his 21st PGA Tour title just four weeks ago at the Travelers Championship, the American is now an unthinkable 23-over par for his last three rounds on the PGA Tour.
It's not the best news for our GolfMagic Major Predictions, which you can watch in the video above, as we tipped up Johnson as our early pick for the US Open in September. Let's just hope DJ finds his form over the next couple of months!
