Thurso: course review
We take a look at this course situated on the northernmost tip of Britain.
Thurso Golf Club is the most northerly golf club on mainland Britain, but there is more to it than that. There are stunning views across the Pentland Firth of the Orkney Islands (on horizon in photo) and Dunnet Head, and the course itself, while not the most challenging, provides a balanced and fair round of golf.
The par-69 parkland course is not the longest at 5,853 yards, although the blustery conditions often make the course play longer than that. Nonetheless, there are a number of short par-4s to have a go at, including two under 300 yards. However, there are also two par-3s of 200 yards and over which don't give out any easy pars.
Green fees are set at £25 for adults, or £15 if playing with a member, regardless of the day of the week. Thurso also boasts its own driving range and putting green.
