Jason Day poses with latest former Nike athlete to join Malbon
Ryan Ruffels has become the latest player to join Malbon, inking a deal to join Jason Day in the brand's professional roster.
Malbon has made another addition to their stable of professional golfers with the signing of Australian Ryan Ruffels.
Ruffels, 25, joins from Nike, following in the footsteps of Jason Day, who also ended his partnership with the sporting goods powerhouse earlier this year in favour of Malbon.
The 25 -year-old Australian announced his deal with the golf lifestyle brand with a post on Instagram alongside Day and Malbon founder Stephen Malbon.
Ruffels enjoyed a prodigious amateur career, winning the 2014 Junior World Golf Championships, but has yet to tee it up in 2024, having played the majority of last season on the Challenge Tour, with his best result coming at the Andalucía Challenge de Cádiz, where he finished T19.
Ruffles has become the fifth high-profile player to part ways with Nike in recent months, with LIV Golf star Matt Wolff and former Open Champion Francesco Molinari also ending their affiliations with the brand.
Most notably, Tiger Woods also ended his 27-year relationship with Nike and recently launched his very own apparel and footwear brand called Sun Day Red in partnership with TaylorMade.
Despite losing some high-profile athletes, Nike still has a dominant stable of players on their books, including Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Tommy Fleetwood and Brooks Koepka.
Despite rumours that they might be moving away from golf entirely following the departure of several high-profile players, Nike did recently add to their list of ambassadors with the singing of DP World Tour player Guido Migliozzi.
LPGA star Charley Hull and European legend Jesper Parnevik have also recently signed deals with Malbon to wear the brand's apparel on their respective Tours.
