Mickelson strikes deal to wear Mizzen+Main shirts
Remember that long-sleeve, button-down number Phil donned at the Masters? You're about to see more of it.
Remember that button-down, long-sleeve dress shirt Phil Mickelson wore in his Masters practice round (above)? You’re about to see a bit more from where that came from.
Lefty has struck a deal to wear US brand Mizzen+Main’s shirts in exchange for a stake in the company and cash.
"I like to be a trendsetter," Mickelson told ESPN.
It is expected Mickelson will wear the long-sleeve option at the Players - which costs $125 - although he does also have more traditional short-sleeve polo options to choose from as well.
"Phil is one of the most well-known golfers of all time and loved by virtually every fan in golf," Mizzen+Main founder Kevin Lavelle said.
"Having someone at this level demonstrate so clearly the performance capabilities of our dress shirts while competing is absolutely phenomenal."
Houston Texan’s star JJ Watt also has a stake in the comany, formed in 2012.
