Golf song writer releases latest track about European Tour star Tommy Fleetwood
Sam Harrop has released his latest song and this time, it's about Ryder Cup hero Tommy Fleetwood.
Singer-songwriter Sam Harrop has been entertaining golf fans for a while now with his fantastic songs about some of the biggest names in golf and his latest track pays tribute to Tommy Fleetwood.
Harrop takes a playful dig at Fleetwood by labelling him 'Southport's very own Finau' due to his 15 runner-up finishes, but he praises the Englishman for his long locks of hair, his strong cardigan game and his heroics at the Ryder Cup alongside his 'Moliwood' partner Francesco Molinari.

The subject of my latest song is immensely talented, a great ambassador for the game, and someone who undoubtedly has bucketloads of wins ahead of him. It is of course @TommyFleetwood1.

One golf fan didn't see the funny side of the song by Harrop and felt the need to leap to Fleetwood's defence in the comments.
"Bit harsh for me. Five European Tour wins and a resume which compares to most players. Having a few runner up finishes doesn't make him a bottler. Best is definitely yet to come!" he said.

Harrop was quick to respond and remind the golf fan that his songs are simply made as light-hearted fun: "Tommy is absolutely not a bottler, and the purpose of the song is certainly not to insinuate that! Just a bit of good-natured fun."
Fleetwood has made three starts on the European Tour in 2021, with his best finish so far a tie for 7th at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, whist his most recent start saw him finish in a disappointing tie for 26th at the Saudi International.
