Born in Wolverhampton, England, in 1995, Rai turned professional in 2012 and steadily climbed through the Challenge Tour and European Tour ranks before establishing himself on the PGA Tour.
Rai's breakthrough came in 2017 when he won three Challenge Tour events, earning automatic promotion to the European Tour.
He captured his first European Tour title at the 2018 Hong Kong Open, followed by a notable victory at the 2020 Scottish Open after defeating Tommy Fleetwood in a play-off.
In 2024, he earned his first PGA Tour victory at the Wyndham Championship, cementing his place among golf’s top international players.
In 2026, Rai achieved the biggest milestone of his career by winning the PGA Championship, becoming the first English golfer in more than a century to win the tournament.
