Lee Westwood is an accomplished professional golfer from England.
Born on 24 April 1973, in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, he turned professional in 1993 and quickly established himself on the European Tour.
Westwood is one of the few golfers to have won tournaments on five continents, showcasing his adaptability to diverse playing conditions.
Westwood's career highlights include 25 European Tour victories and two PGA Tour wins, along with numerous other titles globally.
He is yet to win a major championship, although he has come close on multiple occasions. He has finished runner-up at The Masters twice and The Open once.
A hallmark of his career is his longevity and consistency, which have kept him among the world's top golfers for decades.
He has also been recognized as European Tour golfer of the year multiple times and reached World No. 1 in November 2010.
In Ryder Cup history, Westwood is one of Europe's most decorated players, participating in 11 editions from 1997 to 2021.
He boasts a record of 24 wins, 22 losses, and seven halves, making him one of the highest points-scorers in the event's history.
Known for his calm demeanour and team spirit, Westwood has been instrumental in Europe's success, contributing to several Ryder Cup victories.
He joined the LIV Golf League in 2022 and is currently a co-captain in the Majesticks GC outfit.
Westwood is married to Helen Storey. He divorced Laura Coltart in 2015.
